The talk before the game was about a four-time All-Star forward. But another forward stole the show. In Denver's 119-114 double-overtime win over the New York Knicks, Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari scored a career-high 37 points.

KNICKS AND GARDEN OF DREAMS HOST “DREAM DAY”

The New York Knickerbockers and Garden of Dreams Foundation team up to celebrate the start of a new season of giving with a fun-filled “Dream Day” at Madison Square Garden Training Center and The Children’s Village of Dobbs Ferry, NY. On Monday, Oct. 12, the Knicks players, coaching staff and dancers will host 30 kids from The Children’s Village at a private day at the training center followed by an event at the outdoor basketball court at The Children’s Village.

First, Knicks players, coaches and Knicks City Dancers will take the kids on a tour of MSG Training Center, including a special locker room visit, basketball skills clinic and autograph session. The players will then join the children at The Children’s Village to spruce up an outdoor basketball court and have a backyard barbecue party to celebrate the day.

Below is an itinerary of events for the Knicks and Garden of Dreams “Dream Day”:

Who: Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, Darko Milicic, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Danilo Gallinari and the Knicks City Dancers

What: Players, dancers and kids take private tour of training center

When: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Where: MSG Training Center, Greenburgh, NY

Who: Al Harrington, Chris Duhon, Wilson Chandler, Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas

What: Players and kids paint and clean areas of the basketball court and have barbecue party

When: 3:00 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.

Where: The Children’s Village, Dobbs Ferry, NY

*In the event of inclement weather the entire event will take place at MSG Training Center*

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a nonprofit charity that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden, including the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Media and Fuse to “make dreams come true for kids in crisis”. Garden of Dreams partners with local children’s hospitals, “wish” organizations and community-based organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the tri-state area who are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy.

Â The New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball OperationsDonnie WalshÂ announced that forwardÂ Danilo GallinariÂ had successful back surgery today. The laminotomy, performed by orthopedic spine specialist Dr. Patrick Oâ€™Leary at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, is a surgical procedure that shaves the bony plate surrounding a nerve root. Gallinari is expected to have a full recovery in 6-8 weeks.

In 28 games this season, the 6-10, 225-pound rookie averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 14.7 minutes. On Mar. 4 versus Atlanta, Gallinari recorded a career-high 17 points.

Garden of Dreams children on bus tour of NYCâ€™s famous landmarks

Â The New York Knickerbockers and Garden of Dreams Foundation invite media to ride along as they tour New York Cityâ€™s famous landmarks on a double-decker bus, donated byÂ Gray Line Bus Tours. Tomorrow, Sep. 24, youngsters from The Childrenâ€™s Aid Societyâ€™s Drew Hamilton Center will pick up the Knicksâ€™ newest additions,Â Chris Duhon, Danilo GallinariÂ andÂ Anthony RobersonÂ and alumni,Â John StarksÂ andÂ Cal RamseyÂ at Madison Square Garden before visiting the Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. The children will receive a souvenir from the players at each landmark visited, along with a goodie bag and autographs. Before boarding the bus, the players will also distribute vouchers to preseason home games to select lucky fans.

Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â This New York City bus tour will launch the seasonâ€™s â€œShow Kids NYâ€ program, a partnership between the Knicks and Garden of Dreams Foundation.
