76ers Add Much Needed Intrigue to NBA Playoffs: A Fan’s Outlook (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

The Philadelphia 76ers were expected to get destroyed by the Chicago Bulls even after Derrick Rose's injury. Yet Sixers fans like myself aren't so sure anymore after Philadelphia's 109-92 blowout win in Game 2 on May 1. At the least, it has made the Sixers-Bulls series unpredictable and dramatic for the first time - unlike most other NBA playoff battles.

Knicks Make 76ers Look Even Luckier to Avoid Heat: A Fan’s Outlook (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

The Philadelphia 76ers most likely wanted the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference instead of the No. 7 seed all along. As such, Sixers fans like myself didn't mind the New York Knicks finishing ahead of us, since the Knicks would then be the Miami Heat's problem instead of ours. This seemed to work out for the Knicks, given that they have as many superstars as the Heat and it spawned hopes for an epic series.

With just two games left for each team, that leaves the No. 6 spot in the 2012 Eastern Conference Playoffs up for grabs. New York has beaten Orlando in two of the three meetings this season, meaning the lead tiebreaker would go to the Knicks if the teams ended up with the same records.

Celtics All but Wrap Up Division Title on Weekend: A Fan’s Outlook (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

The Philadelphia 76ers have been fading further and further in the Atlantic Division race for weeks. Sixers fans like myself even saw that happen this past weekend when Philadelphia wasn't in action. In fact, this may have been the weekend in which the Boston Celtics all but ended the Atlantic race once and for all.
